Introduction // arcadeghost

A Habit of Holding On

arcadeghost is someone who has always had a habit of holding on to things. Films watched more than once. Games that never quite left. Old cartridges, ticket paraphernalia, discs, and other small palimpsest pieces of the past.

He isn't a critic or a collector trying to document everything with liminal precision. He simply remembers certain oneiric things more clearly than others, an anamnesis of lived media.

FrameSave is a place for those things — a personal archive of films, games, and mnemonic moments that stayed with him.

"Not trying to document everything. Just keeping the things that stayed."

Reflections // Cinema & Consoles

Films, Games, and Physical Keepsakes

He has always enjoyed films and cinema—the quiet oneiric anticipation of a dark auditorium, that chiaroscuro hush before diegesis begins, and the feeling you carry home long after the credits roll. Along with cinema, he grew up playing games and has always had a soft spot for older consoles and tactile physical media.

Certain films, games, sounds, and objects naturally become attached to memories like ephemera in a reliquary. An old cartridge on a shelf, a faded ticket stub, or the opening nocturne melody of a title screen can bring back a specific room, a rainy afternoon, or a time in life that felt distinct and hauntological.

He isn't trying to document everything. FrameSave is simply his personal tessellated place to keep the things that stayed meaningful.

Guiding Thoughts

A few simple thoughts behind FrameSave and why these things are kept.

01

Experience Over Ratings

Films and games are more than numbers or checklists. What matters is the quiet liminal feeling when the lights come up or the mnemonic memory of playing through an evening.

02

The Value of Physical Things

Old cartridges, ticket stubs, paraphernalia and printed manuals carry a tangible palimpsest weight. Having something physical keeps memories anchored in a way digital files rarely do.

03

Personal, Not Complete

FrameSave is not an exhaustive catalog or an attempt to document everything. It is simply a personal, oneiric place for the things that stayed meaningful.
